La Tavola valdese, composta da sette membri, pastori e laici, è l’organo che rappresenta ufficialmente le chiese metodiste e valdesi nei rapporti con lo Stato e con le organizzazioni ecumeniche; i suoi membri hanno un incarico annuale, rinnovabile per un massimo di sette anni consecutivi.
Il termine Tavola risale ai secoli passati, quando i valdesi erano segregati nelle valli del Piemonte. Essi tenevano i sinodi nelle chiese alla presenza di un rappresentante del sovrano, in lingua francese; l’ufficio di presidenza (moderatore, vice-moderatore e segretario) sedeva al tavolo al centro dell’assemblea. Di qui la dizione “gli ufficiali della Tavola” (les officiers de la Table), diventata poi semplicemente la Table e oggi la Tavola.
Il termine è analogo all’inglese Board nel duplice significato di tavolo e comitato, commissione.
Alessandra Trotta, moderatora
Diacona metodista, nata nel 1968 a Palermo, dove ha esercitato per alcuni anni la professione di avvocato.
Per alcuni anni sovrintendente del XVI circuito (Sicilia) e membro della Commissione discipline, dopo la consacrazione al ministero diaconale (avvenuta nel 2003) ha diretto sino al 2010 il Centro diaconale La Noce-Istituto valdese di Palermo. E’ stata presidente del Comitato permanente dell’Opera per le Chiese Evangeliche Metodiste (OPCEMI) in Italia dal 2009 al 2016.
Dorothea Müller, vice moderatora
Nata nel 1957 a Kaiserslautern in Germania, dal 2022 pastora della Chiesa valdese di Pachino e della Chiesa metodista di Scicli.
Precedentemente ha svolto il suo ministero a Firenze, Sanremo, Torino, Siena, Napoli e diaspora casertana.

Andrea Sbaffi
Metodista, nato nel 1969, dal 2015 è membro della Chiesa valdese di Torino. Ha fatto parte del Concistoro della chiesa con delega alla Commissione stabili. Sposato con Federica (battista), ha tre figli e costituisce a tutti gli effetti una vera famiglia BMV (battista-metodista-valdese). Architetto, libero professionista per oltre vent’anni, dal 2021 è funzionario direttivo tecnico della Regione Piemonte, nella Direzione cultura e commercio. Cresciuto nella Chiesa metodista di Bologna e nel Centro studi di Ecumene (Velletri), ha fatto parte per quindici anni della Federazione giovanile evangelica in Italia, rappresentata anche in numerosi incontri internazionali (WSCF, EMYC, MAYC, EYCE). È stato altresì obiettore di coscienza presso il Rifugio Re Carlo Alberto di Luserna S.Giovanni (To) e membro del Comitato esecutivo del Centro ecumenico Agape (Prali, To) dal 2009 al 2015.
Ignazio Di Lecce
Vive a Pavia, dove è nato nel 1958.
Laureato in Fisica, lavora nel campo dell’Informatica, occupandosi di strumenti software per la progettazione architettonica e il design industriale. E’ studioso degli usi sociali dell’Information and Communication Technology e della storia delle interazioni della ricerca scientifica con la sfera pubblica e le fedi religiose. E’ stato membro del consiglio della chiesa valdese di Pavia per tre mandati e sovrintendente del VI Circuito dal 2015 al 2019.
William Jourdan
Nato a Pinerolo nel 1982, è cresciuto nelle Valli Valdesi, nella chiesa valdese di Luserna San Giovanni. Dopo aver frequentato il Collegio valdese di Torre Pellice, ha studiato teologia a Roma, presso la Facoltà valdese di Teologia e, successivamente, a Heidelberg e Losanna. Dal 2010 al 2017 è stato in servizio presso le chiese metodiste di Vicenza e Bassano del Grappa, ricoprendo per una parte di questo tempo il ruolo di sovrintendente del VII Circuito. A partire dal 2017 è pastore della chiesa valdese di Genova Centro; dal 2018 al 2021 è stato sovrintendente del V Circuito. Ha collaborato con l’editrice Claudiana e con la rivista Protestantesimo ed è attivo nel dialogo ecumenico, con significative esperienze in ambito nazionale e internazionale. Sposato con una pastora metodista, hanno un figlio e una figlia.
Ulf Hermann Koller
Nato nel 1965 in Germania, sposato, tre figli. Laureato in legge.
Ha lavorato come avvocato prima di trasferirsi in Italia nel 1997. Fino al 2010 ha lavorato in un’azienda multinazionale in Umbria, occupandosi di affari generali, legali e poi di relazioni esterne e personale; dal 2011 consulente nell’ambito ricerca e selezione del personale, organizzazione aziendale, privacy, anticorruzione e come auditor. Presidente del consiglio della chiesa metodista di Terni da molti anni, vicepresidente della commissione esecutiva del III distretto (Italia centrale) 2014-2017 e 2018-2021.
Davide Rostan
Nato a Roma nel 1973. È cresciuto a Cinisello Balsamo presso la “Comune” del Circolo Jacopo Lombardini frequentando la comunità valdese di Milano. Ha studiato teologia a Roma, presso la Facoltà valdese di Teologia e, successivamente, a Cambridge. Pastore valdese dal 2005, in servizio dal 2021 presso la chiesa valdese di Bobbio Pellice anche con il ruolo di sovrintendente del I° circuito. Dopo il periodo di prova presso le chiese di Cerignola, Venosa, Corato e Bergamo, ha svolto il suo ministero a Prali, Catania, Novara, Susa, Coazze e Meana. È stato co-direttore del centro ecumenico Agape dal 2005 al 2009. Per circa 10 anni ha svolto il suo ministero anche presso chiese battiste dell’UCEBI: a Catania e in val di Susa.

The Waldensian board
The Tavola Valdese (Waldensian Board), composed of seven members, both pastors and laypeople, is the official body that represents the Waldensian and Methodist churches in their relations with the Italian State and with ecumenical organizations. Its members serve a one-year term, renewable for up to seven consecutive years.
The term Tavola (board) dates back to past centuries when the Waldensians were confined to the valleys of Piedmont. At the time, Synods were held in churches and in the presence of a representative of the sovereign; proceedings were conducted in French. The presiding officers (moderator, vice-moderator, and secretary) sat at a table in the center of the assembly. Hence the term “the officers of the Table” (les officiers de la Table), which eventually became simply la Table, and today la Tavola.
The term is analogous to the English word Board, which similarly carries the dual meaning of a table and a committee or commission.
Alessandra Trotta, moderator
A Methodist deacon, born in 1968 in Palermo, where she practised as a lawyer for a number of years. For some years she was superintendent of the XVI circuit (Sicily) and member of the Disciplines Commission. After her consecration to the diaconal ministry (in 2003), she directed the La Noce-Diaconal Centre in Palermo until 2010. She was president of the Standing Committee of the Methodist Church in Italy (OPCEMI) from 2009 to 2016.

Dorothea Müller, vice-moderator
Born in 1957 in Kaiserslautern, Germany, she has been a pastor of the Waldensian Church in Pachino and the Methodist Church in Scicli since 2022. Previously she ministered in Florence, San Remo, Turin, Siena, Naples and the Caserta diaspora.

Andrea Sbaffi
A Methodist, born in 1969, he has been a member of the Waldensian Church in Turin since 2015. He was part of the church council with responsibility for the Real Estate Committee. Married to Federica (Baptist), he has three children and is a living example of a true BMW (Baptist-Methodist-Waldensian) family. An architect, a freelancer for more than twenty years, he has been a technical executive officer at the Piedmont Region, in the Culture and Commerce Directorate, since 2021. He grew up in the Methodist Church in Bologna and in the Ecumene Study Centre (Velletri). For fifteen years he was a member of the Protestant Youth Federation in Italy (FGEI) which he also represented at numerous international meetings (WSCF, EMYC, MAYC, EYCE). He was also a conscientious objector at the Rifugio Carlo Alberto in Luserna S. Giovanni (Turin) and a member of the Executive Committee of the Agape Ecumenical Centre (Prali, Turin) from 2009 to 2015.
Ignazio di Lecce
Lives in Pavia, where he was born in 1958. A graduate in Physics, he works in the field of Computer Science, focusing on software tools for architectural and industrial design. He also works in the field of Information and Communication Technology. He was a member of the Waldensian Church council of Pavia for three terms and superintendent of the 6th Circuit from 2015 to 2019.

William Jourdan
Born in Pinerolo in 1982, he grew up in the Waldensian Valleys, in the Waldensian church of Luserna San Giovanni. After attending the Liceo Valdese (Waldensian High School) in Torre Pellice, he studied theology in Rome, at the Waldensian Faculty of Theology, and later in Heidelberg and Lausanne. From 2010 to 2017, he served in the Methodist churches of Vicenza and Bassano del Grappa, serving for part of this time as superintendent of the 7th Circuit. Since 2017, he has been pastor of the Waldensian church in Genova city centre; from 2018 to 2021 he was superintendent of the 5th Circuit. He has collaborated with the publisher Claudiana and with the journal Protestantism and is active in ecumenical dialogue, with significant experiences at national and international level. He is married to a Methodist pastor; together they have a son and a daughter.
Ulf Hermann Koller
Born 1965 in Germany, married, three children. Graduated in law. Worked as a lawyer before moving to Italy in 1997. Until 2010 he worked at a multinational company in Umbria, dealing with general and legal affairs and then with external relations and personnel. Since 2011 he has been a consultant in the fields of human resources, business organisation, privacy, prevention of corruption and as an auditor. President of the council of the Methodist Church of Terni for many years, he was vice-president of the executive committee of the 3rd district (Central Italy) from 2014-2017 and from 2018-2021.
Davide Rostan

He was co-director of the Agape Ecumenical Centre Agape from 2005 to 2009. For about 10 years he also ministered in Baptist churches of the UCEBI (Union of Baptist Churches): in Catania and in the Susa Valley.
